Football Manager 2023, including a PS5 version, will be released in November
The franchise is making its first appearance on a home PlayStation console
Sports Interactive has announced that Football Manager 2023 will be released on November 8, 2022.
The Sega-published game, which will be available in several forms across a range of platforms, is making its debut on a home PlayStation console (the series previously appeared on PSP and Vita) as well as Apple Arcade this year.
Digital pre-orders of Football Manager 2023 for PC and Mac via Sega-approved retailers will get a 20% discount (£35.99 instead of £44.99).
They’ll also be granted early access to the game through either Steam, the Epic Games Store, or the Microsoft Store roughly two weeks before launch, with single player career progress carrying over to the full release.
Releasing alongside the PC/Mac title is FM23 Console. “Tailored to the DualSense controller, the series is making its PS5 debut, while both the console and PC versions of the game will be available with Xbox Game Pass.
After a year’s absence, the Football Manager Touch series is also returning. FM23 Touch will be available for Nintendo Switch and for Apple devices through Apple Arcade.
Football Manager 2023 Mobile will also be available for iOS and Android.
Sports Interactive plans to announce new game features in the coming weeks, but said this year’s release will include newly-licensed competitions like the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League and UEFA Europa Conference League.
Physical copies of FM23 will come with PC game codes rather than a disc. Along with the removal of the disc and notebook, Sports Interactive said refinements to its eco-friendly packaging mean that the overall carbon footprint for the product’s packaging is 47% lower than FM22’s.
