Following delays, Sims rival Life by You is ‘ready for June Early Access release’
Rod Humble’s new game was originally scheduled to arrive last September
Paradox Interactive has told players not to expect any further delays to its upcoming life simulation game Life by You.
The game was originally scheduled to launch in Early Access in September 2023, before it was delayed to March 2024 and then pushed back again to this June.
Paradox said today that the game will be available on June 4, 2024, in Early Access on Steam and Epic Games Store.
Life by You is the debut title from Paradox Tectonic, a studio established in 2019 and headed by Rod Humble, the former boss of EA’s The Sims label and the ex-CEO of Second Life creator Linden Lab.
According to its Steam page, it’s “designed to be one of the most open world and moddable life-simulation games”.
“At the core of Life by You is the player community,” said Paradox Tectonic general manager Humble. “We’ve created a sandbox where players can tell whatever story they want. From deeply personal, esoteric, or fan fiction, they can live life to the fullest – or break the rules as they see fit!”
Paradox didn’t confirm pricing in today’s announcement. However, it was priced at $39.99 / £34.99 / €39.99 before pre-orders were cancelled and refunds were issued following a delay.
