Flight Simulator is adding competitive multiplayer racing in its first major expansion
Reno Air Races pack will be available this autumn
Asobo is adding competitive multiplayer to Flight Simulator as part of the game’s first major expansion in the autumn/fall of 2021.
The Reno Air Races expansion will bring the STIHL National Championship Air Races to the game.
Billed as “the world’s fastest motorsport”, many of the planes included in the expansion can fly up to 500 miles per hour at an altitude of 50-250 foot above ground.
The launch of Flight Simulator’s next world update was recently delayed by two weeks to September 7.
Focusing on Germany, Austria and Switzerland, World Update 6 will introduce a new series of releases called ‘Local Legends’. These will add new aircraft famous in the region of the world update but not as well known worldwide, starting with a German plane from 1930 called the Junkers JU-52.
Asobo launched a major Flight Simulator update in July to coincide with the game’s Xbox Series X/S release. It provided a significant performance boost for PC players, who also received access to the numerous new user-friendly features originally designed to help make the game more approachable for console owners.
A Flight Simulator Top Gun expansion will be released later this year.
