First Metro Exodus story DLC out now
The Two Colonels will be followed by a second expansion in early 2020
Deep Silver has released The Two Colonels, the first of two Metro Exodus story DLC packs.
It tells the story of Colonel Khlebnikov during the last days of life in Siberian city Novosibirsk, retraced by Colonel Miller a year later.
The new “linear chapter” also introduces a fresh weapon, the flamethrower.
It’s available for $7.99/£6.49-£6.99 standalone, or as part of a $24.99/£19.99 expansion pass, which will also include the second piece of DLC, set for release in early 2020.
Titled Sam’s Story, it will see players step into the shoes of a new character and the Aurora’s only American, Spartan Ranger Sam. After the Spartans discover life outside of the Moscow Metro, former US marine Sam rekindles hopes of making his way back to the USA.
His story will feature a “new sandbox survival level” based on the Russian port city Vladivostok, characterised by “tsunami ravaged harbours, ruined industrial buildings, and crumbling residential districts”.
Metro author Dmitry Glukhovsky recently revealed plans are in place for a new entry in 4A Games’ post-apocalyptic FPS series. “The Metro gaming series will be continued,” the novelist said in an Instagram post. “Working on the story.”
