FIFA 23’s World Cup mode has leaked and it’s playable
PS5 players have gained access to the upcoming mode ahead of its official launch
FIFA 23’s World Cup mode has accidently leaked, enabling players to sample it ahead of its official launch next month.
Multiple PS5 players have reported gaining access to the mode this week, and while some were only able to access its menus, YouTuber NickRTFM managed to play a number of online matches, which are viewable in the video below.
He said he was able to access the mode by going into Ultimate Team, selecting Multiplayer Activities, clicking FIFA World Cup Online Quickplays, then hitting the back button and going to Online Tournament.
Marvel and EA recently announced plans to collaborate on a series of special FUT 23 items featuring comic book-style illustrations of players, which will be made available when the game’s free World Cup mode launches in November.
As well as next month’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 mode, EA plans to release a FIFA Women’s World Cup Australia and New Zealand 2023 mode in the build-up to next year’s tournament.

FIFA 23 was also briefly playable on Xbox in late August, a month ahead of its official release.
Players reportedly managed to access the game early if they had been involved in a recent beta test and had preloaded the Ultimate Edition.
EA claimed on Wednesday that FIFA 23 enjoyed a record-breaking launch for the franchise in terms of first week player numbers.
FIFA 23 attracted over 10.3 million players in its first week of availability, the company said. In comparison, a similar press release announcing last year’s “record-breaking FIFA 22 launch” said 9.1 million players had joined the game in its first 10 days.
VGC’s FIFA 23 review concluded: “EA improves on its predecessor for the umpteenth time, once again delivering the best football game around. The new power shots, the revamped set piece system and women’s club teams are welcome, but anyone expecting big changes will want to hope EA Sports FC 24 delivers.”
