FIFA 19 and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe top European game sales in first half of 2019
Grand Theft Auto V also among the top performing physical games this year
FIFA 19 and New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe were Europe’s best-selling physical games in the first half of 2019.
That’s according to information published on Thursday by official charts and market research data supplier GfK Entertainment.
From January to June, EA’s football game was the top-selling title in Belgium, Denmark, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Spain, Sweden and the UK.
Nintendo’s platformer was the best-seller in Austria, France, Germany and Switzerland during the same period.
Grand Theft Auto V, Red Dead Redemption 2, Days Gone, Minecraft and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe all made multiple appearances near the top of the best-seller lists across Europe.
Earlier on Tuesday, the Entertainment Retailers Association said Grand Theft Auto V was the UK’s best-selling game in the first half of 2019, based on physical and digital unit sales. Rockstar’s title sold 361,312 copies to narrowly hold off FIFA 19, which sold 360,588 copies.
Ubisoft said recently that The Division 2 was the best-selling game worldwide in the first half of 2019.
