Fez is now free on the Epic Games store, Celeste and Inside are up next
Puzzle platformer replaces Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero
Polytron’s Fez is now free to download from the Epic Games store.
The celebrated 2D puzzle platformer, which has a score of 91 on Metacritic based on 11 PC reviews, replaces previous free titles Hyper Light Drifter and Mutant Year Zero: Road to Eden.
It will be free to download until Thursday August 29, when it will be replaced by Matt Makes Games’ Celeste and Playdead’s Inside.
Epic originally launched a bi-monthly free game offer alongside its PC storefront in December 2018 but said in mid-May that it was increasing the frequency of the offer to one free game per week until the end of 2019.
Titles offered for free have included Alan Wake, For Honor, Limbo, This War of Mine, Moonlighter, Overcooked, World of Goo, Transistor and The Witness.
Epic previously said there had been more than 25 million free game installs as of May 2019.
The Epic Games store’s August update introduced cloud saves for more titles and Humble Bundle keyless integration, while giving product pages a facelift.
It was confirmed earlier this week that the PC version of Oddworld: Soulstorm will be released exclusively through the Epic Games store.
