Far Cry 6 has leaked on the PlayStation Store
Update: Ubisoft releases official teaser video
Far Cry 6 will release for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 on February 18, 2021.
That’s according to a pulled PlayStation Store listing for the unannounced title – captured by Twitter users – which briefly appeared in the Hong Kong region.
The listing confirms a previous report that Breaking Bad actor Giancarlo Esposito will star as Far Cry 6’s villain.
UPDATE: Ubisoft has released the following teaser video:
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: Esposito is the second Breaking Bad actor to star in a Far Cry game, following Michael Mando’s role as key villain Vaas in Far Cry 3.
According to the listing, Far Cry 6 takes place in Yara, “a tropical paradise frozen in time,” where a revolution has pushed dictator Anton Castillo (Esposito) to restore his nation “back to its former glory by any means.” Castillo’s son, Diego, follows in his footsteps.

Far Cry 6 is said to feature “the largest Far Cry playground to date,” with players set to fight across jungles, beaches and Esperanza, the capital city of Yara.
Players will “employ makeshift weapons, vehicles and Amigos, the new Fangs for Hire to burn the tyrannical regime to the ground,” the listing reads.
The store description also confirms that those who purchase the game on PS4 will be able to upgrade to a PS5 version at no additional cost. Earlier this week VGC revealed that Xbox has encouraged developers to offer next-gen upgrades for free.
More details on Far Cry 6 are expected to be revealed during Ubisoft Forward this weekend. Forward is the company’s first fully digital conference and promises to include exclusive game news and product reveals.
