Fans think NFS developer Stellar could be teasing a new Burnout
“POV: You’re about to be rear ended,” reads a teaser image posted to X
A tweet from Need for Speed developer Stellar Entertainment has caused some fans to believe it could be teasing a new Burnout game.
Stellar Entertainment has previously worked on Need for Speed: Unbound, Need for Speed Remastered and Burnout Paradise Remastered, and now fans think it could be teasing another game in the Burnout series.
“Our way of giving you (kinda weird) insider intel about what we’re working on, without actually telling you what we’re working on,” the post on X reads.
“And the bosses*still* haven’t issued any take downs! Happy days!,” it continues. Attached to the post is an image reading “POV: You’re about to be rear-ended.”
The references to rear-ending and take-downs have caused speculation, with Takedowns being in-game name for destroying an opponent’s car in the racing series. Takedown was also the subtitle of the third game in the series.
In response to this, fans were quick to point out that the post could tease the long-awaited return to the racing franchise.
“REMAKE BURNOUT 3 TAKEDOWN, WHERE DO I PAY?,” one user wrote in response. “Hope you guys don’t get burned out developing this!,” wrote another.
Despite demand for a new entry in the series, the last traditional Burnout game was Burnout Paradise, which released in 2008.
A remaster of the game, developed by Stellar Entertainment, was released in 2018 to celebrate the game’s 10th anniversary.
