Fans ‘should be very patient’ for Starfield reveal, says Howard
Director says he prefers short PR campaigns
Elder Scrolls director Todd Howard has asked fans to be “very patient” in regards to the unveiling of Bethesda’s sci-fi game, Starfield.
In a lengthy sit down with IGN, Howard said “everyone should be very patient” for the next showing of the title, which was first announced at E3 2018.
“I will say this. I like when you really see the game to when it’s out [to be] as short as possible. As short as people will let me,” he said.
Howard’s request likely means that any substantial information about Starfield won’t be revealed at E3 2019.
Doom Eternal looks set to lead Bethesda’s 2019 E3 showcase on Sunday, but the company has also said it will reveal “much, much more.”
The developer has also shown a preference for highlighting major releases very close to their release date.
Its highly successful mobile game, Fallout Shelter, launched alongside its announcement during the company’s first E3 showcase in 2015. Bethesda employed a similar tactic with Fallout 4, announcing the game five months before its November 2015 release.
Bethesda’s E3 showcase is set to take place for Sunday June 9 at 5.30pm PT / 8.30pm ET / 1.30am UK June 10 / 2.30am CEST June 10.
