Fallout, Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy are coming to Magic: The Gathering
The Fallout expansion will release early next year
Wizards of the Coast has announced that expansions based on Fallout, Assassin’s Creed and Final Fantasy are coming to Magic: The Gathering.
The sets, which will release starting in 2024, are part of Magic: The Gather’s Universes Beyond expansion, which sees the 30-year-old trading card game partner with brands, notably this year, The Lord of the Rings and Doctor Who.
The Fallout expansion will be the first to release, coming in Q1 2023, with Assassin’s Creed coming in Q3 2023.
Wizards of the Coast also announced that beyond 2024, a set based on the Final Fantasy franchise will be released. This is notable as Final Fantasy already has a popular collectible card game, published by Square Enix.
Specific products from the sets have yet to be announced, however, it’s likely to include traditional booster packs as well as collectable boxes with promo cards.
This year’s set based on The Lord of the Rings saw Wizards of the cost release The One Ring, a special card that was only printed once.
Recently, the card, which has been valued at over $2M, has been purchased by Post Malone. In a video posted to Instagram and TikTok by a user named Brook Tafton, Malone is shown receiving the card, although exactly how much the rapper paid for the card is unknown.
