Matthew McConaughey appeared at The Game Awards to announce Exodus, a new sci-fi game.
The game, which received a debut trailer, opened Thursday’s awards, andvis in development at Archtype Entertainment.
McConaughey teased that every player will have a “different relationship” with his character.
“Having fled a dying Earth, humanity has found a new home in a hostile galaxy,” the game’s description reads.
“Here, we are the underdogs, fighting our final battle for survival. You are the Traveler, humanity’s last hope.”
It adds: “Your destiny is to lead the Travelers to the stars in the hunt to steal alien weapons and technology from the most powerful enemy in this universe – the Celestials.
“Leading the fight for salvation, you will be forced to make sacrifices putting everyone you love at risk. How much are you willing to sacrifice?”
The game will have players travelling through space, fighting a variety of enemy types, according to Archtype.
“Rival human Dynasties vying to claim what’s yours. Monstrous creatures hunting you across perilous landscapes. Alien civilizations hostile towards your plight,” it says.
“Most dangerous of all, among the distant stars you may face the Celestials themselves, whose intellect, technology, and weapons are far more advanced than your own.
“Constantly outnumbered and overmatched, you must rely on a combination of stealth, ingenuity, and firepower to defeat your foes. Using your unique genetic gifts, you must build an arsenal of weaponry and equipment that combines the best of human tech with salvaged Celestial Remnants.”
