Evil Genius 2 lets you ‘sell the Royal Family’

The sequel to the cult villain simulator will be launching in 2020

Rebellion has revealed the first trailer and details for Evil Genius 2.

Set for release in 2020, the sequel to 2004’s Evil Genius is a simulation in which you step into the shoes of a villainous criminal mastermind intent on world domination.

Players will be able to build their own unique evil lair, and can set it across multiple storeys.

In-game missions will be suitably nasty too, and range from kidnapping the Governor of Maine to melting Alaska. You can even sell the British Royal Family.

Since an evil genius shouldn’t be doing all the legwork themselves, you can recruit and train henchmen and troopers and send them all over the world to commit evil deeds in your name.

You can also set traps to make sure any pesky heroes who infiltrate your lair get what’s coming to them.

The original Evil Genius was praised for its unique premise, but when its developer Elixir Studios closed down a year after it released, fans feared a sequel would never happen.

The sequel, coming 16 years after the original, is made possible because Rebellion bought Elixir’s intellectual property back in 2006, including the Evil Genius name.
