Epic launches holiday sale including 12 free games promotion
Epic Games store also offering a $10/£10 coupon with every single purchase of $14.99/£14.99
The Epic Games store has launched its holiday sale, which includes the release of a free game every day for 12 days.
Running until January 1, the sale is billed as up to 75% off selected games.
Epic is also offering a $10/£10 Epic Games store coupon with every single game purchase of $14.99/£14.99 or above during the sale period (full details can be found here).
The free games giveaway begins with Into the Breach, which normally costs £10.99 but is currently free to download until 8am PT / 11pm ET / 4pm UK on December 20, when it will be replaced with another title.
The free games will be free to keep forever, Epic announced at The Game Awards last week.
Epic has been giving away free games on its digital storefront throughout 2019, but it’s unclear if the promotion will continue in 2020.
The company originally launched a bi-monthly free game offer in December 2018 but said in mid-May that it was increasing the frequency of the offer to one free game per week until the end of 2019.
An Epic spokesperson told VGC last week they didn’t have any plans they could share when asked if the free games promotion will be extended beyond 2019.
Titles offered for free have included Alan Wake, For Honor, Limbo, This War of Mine, Overcooked, World of Goo, Transistor, The Witness, Hyper Light Drifter, Fez, Inside, Celeste, Metro 2033 Redux, Minit and Observer.
Epic said on May 1 there had been more than 25 million free game installs. It didn’t have an updated figure to share when contacted by VGC.
