Elle Fanning will star in Hideo Kojima’s next game, it’s been confirmed
The enigmatic developer is also teasing a second actor set to appear in the title
Actor Elle Fanning will appear in the next game from Hideo Kojima, it’s been confirmed.
Kojima had been teasing the actor on Twitter since last month’s Tokyo Game Show, with a darkened image of a mystery woman and the caption “Who am I?”.
Internet sleuths were quick to suggest that it could be Fanning, comparing images of the actor with the silhouette.
And now the rumours have been confirmed, thanks to a QR code on display at PAX Australia. Posted to Twitter by Lance McDonald, the QR code leads to an image on the Kojima Production website, revealing Fanning.
Fanning is known for her work in Super 8, The Neon Demon and The Girl from Plainville.
Kojima is now also teasing a second woman set to appear in the game, with another darkened image reading “Where Am I?.”
It’s believed this could be Margaret Qualley, who starred in Kojima Productions’ debut game, Death Stranding.
This is due to supposedly leaked footage of Kojima’s next game, which is reportedly called Overdose and stars Qualley, that appeared earlier this year.
Kojima appeared at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in June to reveal that he’s teaming up with Xbox Game Studios to make a game he’s wanted to make for a while, but was previously unable to due to technological limitations.
“There is a game I have always wanted to make,” Kojima explained.
“It’s a completely new game, one that no one has ever experienced or seen before. I’ve waited very long for the day when I could finally start to create it.”
