Electronic Arts confirms EA Play Live pre-show start time and event host
A Dead Space reimagining is reportedly set to be revealed at the July 22 event
Electronic Arts has confirmed new details about its upcoming EA Play Live showcase.
It was previously confirmed that EA Play Live will take place on Thursday, July 22.
And today EA announced that the pre-show for the event will begin at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST, followed by the main showcase. It’s unclear how long the pre-show will last, but VGC has asked EA.
The publisher also said on Tuesday that the event will be hosted by WWE star Austin Creed, aka Xavier Woods.
Upcoming EA games expected to feature at the event include Madden NFL 22, FIFA 22 and Battlefield 2042.
Journalist Jeff Grubb recently claimed EA is set to announce a new project during EA Play Live, which will be an “established IP” revival from EA’s Motive studio.
The story was picked up by VGC and other outlets, and Gematsu has since corroborated the report and claimed that the IP in question is Dead Space.
The Dead Space series launched in 2008 and has not seen a new instalment since 2013’s Dead Space 3. The series’ developer, Visceral Games, was closed by EA in 2017.
According to Gematsu, the new Dead Space game will be a “reimagining” of the series, rather than a straight sequel to the existing trilogy.
