Elden Ring wins Game of the Year at The Game Awards 2022
FromSoftware also announced a return to the Armored Core series
Elden Ring won the top prize at The Game Awards 2022, where it scooped several awards including the coveted Game of the Year.
FromSoftware‘s RPG epic fought off competition from God of War Ragnarok, which also had a successful night winning several awards.

Elden Ring director Hidetaka Miyazaki‘s Game of the Year acceptance speech was followed by a bizarre moment when a member of the audience appeared to join the FromSoftware team on stage, before grabbing the mic and shouting out “his orthodox Rabbi Bill Clinton.”
According to host Geoff Keighley, the individual has now been arrested.
The Bandai Namco RPG, which has sold over 17 million copies and is the highest-rated new game of the year, also received a pair of PlayStation Partner Awards last week, including the Grand Award (for the best-selling game developed in Asia) and the Users’ Choice award.
Elden Ring’s latest update rolled out earlier this week. The expansion takes place in the several Colosseums that have been dotted around the Elden Ring map since the game was released.
FromSoftware had a busy night, with Armored Core VI: Fires of Rubicon also being revealed during The Game Awards, with a trailer announcing that the game will release on PS5, Xbox Series, and PC.
Published by Bandai Namco, the sixth installment marks the first new Armored Core game in more than a decade, the last being Armored Core V back in 2012.
