EA’s next Play Live showcase will take place a month after E3
Publisher sets big games event for July; EA is yet to sign up for next month’s digital E3
Electronic Arts has confirmed its next EA Play Live showcase will take place on Thursday, July 22.
The confirmed date means EA’s big games showcase will fall a month after the digital E3 showcase, which is due to take place June 12 through 15. EA is one of a handful of publishers not to commit to supporting this year’s E3, alongside the likes of PlayStation, Activision and Epic Games.
However, fans of the publisher’s Battlefield series may not have to wait until EA Play for news of its next instalment, as it’s suggested an announcement on Battlefield 6 will be coming in June.
Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Ubisoft, Sega, Take-Two Interactive, Warner Bros. Games, Square Enix, Bandai Namco and Koch Media are confirmed as participants in the digital E3 2021 event, which will run from June 12.
Ubisoft has already confirmed that its next Ubisoft Forward event will be “part of” this year’s E3, and will take place on June 12 at 12pm PT / 3pm ET / 8pm UK.
EA recently announced a partnership with the Masters tournament for its next EA Sports PGA Tour game, which will be subtitled ‘Road to the Masters’
The company has also said it will continue to develop Star Wars games, after its exclusive use of the license is set to come to the end with the announcement of an open-world Star Wars title from Ubisoft.
“We love Star Wars, and we look forward to creating more exciting experiences for players to enjoy,” an EA spokesperson said in January.
