EA’s magic FPS Immortals of Aveum will be released in July, it’s been claimed

The release date for EA’s first-person magic shooter Immortals of Aveum has seemingly leaked.

Announced at The Game Awards in December, Immortals of Aveum is the debut title from Ascendant Studios, which is set to be published under the EA Originals label.

While the game’s reveal trailer confirmed a 2023 launch window, highly reliable dataminer billbil-kun has now claimed it will be released on July 20.

Update

EA has officially announced that Immortals of Aveum will be released on July 20.

Built with Unreal Engine 5, Immortals of Aveum is scheduled for release on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.

The game’s teaser trailer billed it as “a groundbreaking new single-player, first-person magic shooter… set in an original fantasy universe engulfed in magic, rife with conflict, and on the verge of oblivion”.

Based in San Rafael, California, Ascendant is an independent studio founded by CEO and game director Bret Robbins, who was creative director on Visceral Games’ original Dead Space as well as Sledgehammer’s Call of Duty games Modern Warfare 3, Advanced Warfare and World War 2.

According to the studio’s website, it has “assembled a close knit, unpretentious team of industry-leading talent with BAFTA and Game of the Year award-winning experience on beloved franchises such as Telltale’s The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Borderlands, The Wolf Among Us, Mafia, Tomb Raider, Gears of War, Metal Gear Solid, The Elder Scrolls, Call of Duty, Dead Space and Bioshock”.

“I founded Ascendant Studios to make original and epic games, and here we are, four years later, about to finish our first one,” Robbins said when Immortals of Aveum was announced. “What started as a crazy, exciting idea has grown into a crazy, exciting triple-A game.”
