EA Sports FC 25 Ballon d’Or event kicks off this weekend
Rodri, Bonmati and more will be included in the promotion
EA Sports FC 25 will hold an in-game Ballon d’Or event this weekend, giving players access to some of the highest-rated cards in the game.
The event, which will celebrate the real-life winners of the Ballon d’Or, will see the winners and runners-up receive special cards with highly increased stats.
The card, which includes the likes of a 97-rated Rodri and a 97-rated Aitana Bonmati, will be limited loans, meaning they will only be usable for the duration of the event.
This is likely so that the in-game market isn’t ruined by cards of such high ratings being introduced permanently early in the game.
“Any players who log into Ultimate Team from November 8 until November 12 will receive a pair of Player Picks containing 5 nominees of each gender to choose 1 from,” reads a description from EA.
“These player items will be granted as Limited Time Only Loans that give you unlimited matches with a respective player, but only during a set time period.”

EA Sports FC 25 topped September’s US software chart following a record launch, according to data from market research firm Circana.
The game saw double-digit percentage growth compared to EA Sports FC 24 during its launch month in September 2023.
That was enough to see it record the highest US launch month dollar sales of any football (soccer) game released to date, said Mat Piscatella, executive director of video games at Circana.
