EA Sports FC 24 Ultimate Team will reportedly feature female players for the first time
Women’s football has had an increased focus in the FIFA series for the past few games
EA Sports FC Ultimate Team will feature female players for the first time, it’s been claimed.
That’s according to FUTSheriff, a Twitter account that has consistently leaked content coming to Ultimate Team ahead of its announcement for the duration of FIFA 23.
According to the account, female players are coming to Ultimate Team and, “most likely”, players will be able to play in teams of both male and female players.
While FIFA has featured female players for some years and updated FIFA 23 with more women’s football content earlier this year, female players have never featured in the game’s most popular mode.
FIFA’s Pro Clubs mode, in which each player takes control of one player rather than a full team, has allowed for the mixing of male and female players since FIFA 23, but is currently the only mode that allows this.
FIFA 23 was the first game in the series to feature a female player, Chelsea’s Sam Kerr, on the cover.
On Thursday EA revealed the logo for EA Sports FC and teased that more details would be revealed in July.
EA Sports FC marks the first football game from the publisher following the end of its relationship with FIFA.
The governing body of football still intends to create football video games, however. Earlier this year it was reported that FIFA president Gianni Infantino said: “The new FIFA game – the FIFA 25, 26, 27 and so on – will always be the best e-game for any girl or boy.”
