EA Sports FC 24 has benched a bugged Ultimate Team player because she keeps losing the ball
Ada Hegerberg has an unusual bug and can’t be used until it’s resolved
EA Sports FC 24 players who have Ada Hegerberg in Ultimate Team mode currently can’t use her because of an unusual bug.
Norwgian striker Hegerberg, who plays for the Lyon women’s team, is available in Ultimate Team along with other Division 1 Féminine players.
However, players have been reporting that if the L2 / LT trigger is held while Hegerberg has the ball, she’ll instantly lose possession of it and leave it behind her as she runs off.
Oddly, Hegerberg appears to be the only player this affects, resulting in EA sidelining her until the issue can be resolved.
“We are investigating an issue impacting the Ada Hegerberg Player Item,” reads a statement that appears when the game’s Ultimate Team mode is started.
“During this time, players who have this Item in their active Squad will not be able to start a match until the Item is removed from the Squad.
“Players who have the Ada Hegerberg Player Item in Ultimate Draft will have their Drafts reset and will be provided with a Draft Token in the coming days.”
The issue is particularly notable because Hegerberg is rated 89, making her one of the highest-rated players in the game, male or female.
As such, she’s a relatively sought-after player, meaning her glitch is getting more widespread coverage than if she had been a lower-rated player.
EA Sports FC 24 is the first game in EA’s football series that ditches the FIFA branding. Its most notable change this year is the inclusion of women in its Ultimate Team mode, allowing for mixed-gender teams.
The top women’s leagues from England, France, Germany, Spain and the US have been added to the mode. Male and female players can play in the same team, and if they’re part of the same affiliated team (such as Chelsea FC and Chelsea Women) they receive a further chemistry link.
