EA premieres the first Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay
Space dogfighting game is scheduled for October
Electronic Arts has released a six-minute video showing the first Star Wars: Squadrons gameplay.
In development at Montreal-based Motive Studios, the title includes an original single-player campaign set after the events of Return of the Jedi and 5v5 multiplayer space battles.
It will support cross-play on all platforms and the PS4/PC versions of the game will also support VR.
Featuring new characters and some cameos from established ones, the story mode will see players learning to become a pilot from the perspective of two characters, one fighting for the New Republic’s Vanguard Squadron and the other serving the Galactic Empire’s Titan Squadron.
Online Fleet Battles will task players with destroying the opposing team’s flagship, while Dogfights challenge teams to eliminate as many opponents as possible across established and brand-new locations like the gas giant of Yavin Prime and the shattered moon of Galitan.
