Electronic Arts has announced new details about its upcoming EA Play Live showcase.

EA Play Live will take place on July 22 with “a short pre-show” beginning at 10am PT / 1pm ET / 6pm BST before the main event, which will last for 40 minutes.

“The main show brings the real excitement, focusing on games that are coming out soon rather than in the all-to-distant future”, EA’s chief marketing officer, David Tinson, said on Thursday.

“The show is a fast-paced one, coming in around 40 minutes and will feature what’s next for games like Battlefield 2042 and Apex Legends. You’ll also see the first gameplay for Lost in Random, featuring explosive dice battles, time-freezing tactics and card collection.

“We’ll have a couple other games to highlight as well, but for those, you’ll just have to wait and see,” he added.

BioWare subsequently said it won’t be showing off anything at EA Play Live, meaning fans will have to wait longer for the next Mass Effect 4 and Dragon Age 4 reveals.

EA could be set to reveal “a full-fledged remake” of Dead Space, which is in development at its Motive studio and inspired by Capcom’s recent Resident Evil games, according to GamesBeat.

EA also announced on Thursday that it will broadcast several EA Play Live shows in the run-up to July 22’s main event.

DICE and Respawn will discuss Battlefield 2042, Apex Legends and the wider FPS genre in ‘The Future of First-Person Shooters’ on July 8 at 10am PT / 6pm BST.

A panel focused on indie developers EA has partnered with will follow on July 13 at 10am PT / 6pm BST, including Josef Fares of Hazelight (It Takes Two), Olov Redmalm of Zoink (Lost in Random), and Guha Bala of Velan (Knockout City).

A Madden NFL 22 panel on July 19 at 4pm PT (July 20 at 12am BST) will focus on how the community is helping shape this year’s series entry, while another broadcast on July 20 at 10am PT / 6pm BST “will highlight an extremely cool new addition to an extremely popular and long-running EA Sports franchise”.
