EA Play (Access) will launch on Steam this month

Electronic Arts has confirmed that its EA Play subscription service (formerly known as EA Access) will launch on Steam on August 31.

EA Play will be the first gaming subscription service available on Steam.

Priced at $4.99/£3.99 per month or $29.99/£19.99 annually, it offers unlimited access to the full versions of more than 50 of EA’s back catalogue games.

Subscribers also save 10% on EA digital content, including full games and DLC, and get access to exclusive trials of new EA titles before they launch, with in-game progress carrying over to the full game if they choose to buy it.

EA Play members also receive unique perks such as early access to a FIFA 21 trial from October 1, plus vanity items for Star Wars Squadrons such as the Interceptor Elegance Helmet and the Ashen Monarch Starfighter Paint Job Set.

EA currently offers a similar PC service for its own digital distribution platform, Origin. EA Play is also available for Xbox One and PS4.

Electronic Arts has rebranded the EA Access and EA Origin subscription services as EA Play from today.

Origin Access Premier will also be changing its name to EA Play Pro, and the annual live event previously called EA Play will now be known as EA Play Live.

The company announced last year that it would bring its games to Steam, starting with Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order on November 15.
