EA Access and Origin are being rebranded as EA Play

Electronic Arts is rebranding its EA Access and EA Origin subscription services as EA Play from August 18.

Origin Access Premier will also be changing its name to EA Play Pro.

And the annual live event previously called EA Play will now be known as EA Play Live.

EA Access, which is available for Xbox One and PS4, and Origin Access for PC, grants members unlimited access to full versions of selected back catalogue games published by EA.

Subscribers also get early access trials of most new EA games and receive a 10 percent discount on EA digital purchases.

“We’re adding even more in the coming months, starting with exclusive in-game challenges and monthly reward drops for members on select titles”, EA said on Friday.

“That will vary from title to title, but we’re talking things like early access challenges and rewards like Ultimate Team Packs, exclusive vanity items and cosmetics, and more.”

EA Play will be the first gaming subscription service available on Steam when it launches on Valve’s platform soon.
