E3 2021 will close with its own awards show
Event set to take place on June 15
The Entertainment Software Association (ESA) has confirmed plans to host an official E3 2021 awards show.
The event is scheduled for the final day of the all-digital E3 2021, which takes place from June 12-15.
Editors from IGN, GameSpot, PC Gamer and GamesRadar+ will choose the winners for the awards show, including selecting the Most Anticipated game of E3 2021 and Most Anticipated titles from each participating publisher and developer.
“For this year’s event, we are collaborating with editors at some of the world’s leading video game media outlets to create the Official E3 2021 Awards Show, recognizing the show’s most anticipated games,” said ESA president and CEO Stanley Pierre-Louis.
“The broadcast is going to be packed with exciting announcements and reveals, and celebrating innovative publishers and developers is an ideal way to close E3 2021.”
Fan registration for E3 2021 will go live on June 3. Media, industry professionals, and creators/influencers can already sign up.
A live E3 2021 broadcast will be available for everyone on platforms including Twitch, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook, but consumers who sign up to the free E3 2021 portal and app will receive access to exclusive features.
The ESA has said the portal and app will serve as a key hub throughout the event, offering fans and media an “interactive experience” featuring virtual exhibitor booths, places to hang and chat with other users, and gamified show elements.
