Dr. Dre is making music for a new Grand Theft Auto game, according to Snoop Dogg
The rappers are reportedly collaborating on a Rockstar project
Dr. Dre is producing music for a new Grand Theft Auto game, long-time collaborator and fellow rapper Snoop Dogg has suggested.
In an interview with Rolling Stone, Snoop said he was contributing to some of the music Dre is making for the upcoming project.
“I do know he’s in the studio,” Snoop said of Dre. “I do know he’s making great fucking music. And some of his music is connected to the GTA game that’s coming out.
“So I think that that will be the way that his music will be released, through the GTA video game.”
It’s unclear if Snoop was referring to a brand-new, unannounced game, or to updates for an ongoing project like Grand Theft Auto Online.
A representative for Grand Theft Auto maker Rockstar Games declined to comment on Snoop’s claims when contacted by Rolling Stone.
Grand Theft Auto 6 could still be four years away from release and feature an expanding map set in Vice City, reliable industry insider Tom Henderson claimed in July. His claims were backed up by well-informed Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier, as well as VGC’s own sources.
Rockstar announced last week that its Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – Definitive Edition remasters will launch digitally on November 11, 2021, ahead of a physical release the following month.
The company recently delayed the next-gen versions of GTA V from their previously planned November 2021 release date to early next year.
