Dr Disrespect returns to Twitch following 2-week ban
Streamer’s account was suspended after filming in public bathroom at E3
Guy ‘Dr Disrespect’ Beahm’s Twitch account is back online following what would appear to be a two-week ban for an ill-advised stunt the streamer pulled at E3 this month.
The account, which has over three million followers, was suspended after the internet personality and former Sledgehammer Games developer streamed from inside a public restroom while E3 attendees, including one that appeared to be a child, used urinals in the background.
He reportedly entered the bathroom while filming on multiple occasions, in breach of Twitch’s community guidelines surrounding “sharing content that violates another’s reasonable expectation of privacy”, and in violation of California privacy law.
E3 organiser the Entertainment Software Association subsequently revoked Beahm’s show pass.
Twitch declined to comment on his account suspension or the length of the ban when approached by VGC for comment at the time, but the channel is now back online.
Publisher Electronic Arts recently told GamesIndustry.biz it was “evaluating” its professional relationship with Beahm in light of recent events. The streamer had participated in the company’s EA Play 2019 E3 event prior to being banned from the show.
