Donkey Kong Land 3 is now on Switch Online, completing the Game Boy trilogy
All three Game Boy Donkey Kong Land games are now available in Switch Online’s library
Donkey Kong Land 3 is the latest Game Boy game to be released on Nintendo Switch Online.
Following the subsequent weekly releases of Donkey Kong Land and Donkey Kong Land 2, Nintendo has completed the Game Boy trilogy on Switch Online by adding the third game too.
Like its predecessors, Donkey Kong Land 3 is based on its SNES equivalent Donkey Kong Country 3, but has different level designs, essentially making it a separate game.
It also has its own unique plot – whereas Donkey Kong Country 3 was about Dixie Kong and Kiddy Kong rescuing Donkey and Diddy from the Northern Kremisphere, this time the pair return to the region to find a mysterious Lost World before Donkey and Diddy can beat them to it.
The addition of Donkey Kong Land 3 brings the total number of Game Boy and Game Boy Color games available on Switch Online to 32 in the west, with two more (Yakuman and The Frog for Whom the Bell Tolls) available in Japan.
