Dirt 5 will be an Xbox Series S/X launch title
Xbox One, PS4 and PC versions will arrive a little earlier on November 6
Dirt 5 will be an Xbox Series S/X launch title on November 10, 2020.
Codemasters confirmed the news to coincide with today’s announcement that Xbox Series X will launch on November 10 (the platform holder revealed earlier this week that Xbox Series S will also launch on the same date).
Dirt 5 will be released on November 6 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC, with three-days early access for Amplified Edition players, while a Google Stadia version will arrive in early 2021. The game will offer a free next-gen upgrade plan on Xbox and PlayStation consoles.
Dirt 5 was originally scheduled to be released on October 9 before being delayed by one week, and it was subsequently delayed again “to take advantage of the next generation console launches”.
Sony is also gearing up to launch PlayStation 5 this holiday season, although a release date has yet to be confirmed.
To coincide with today’s news, Codemasters released the gameplay video above. It shows a night race on New York’s frozen East River, with classic Ford and Peugeot rally cars competing on the ice. Up to 12 players can compete in Ice Breaker events, which feature multiple layouts and locations.
