DICE is working on Battlefield 2042 server issues following major game update
Many players struggling to join matches following the game’s biggest patch yet
DICE is working to fix Battlefield 2042 server issues that have arisen following the release of the game’s latest update on Thursday morning.
“We’re aware that many of you are receiving an error message while attempting to load into a Server, and then being returned to the Main Menu,” the company said.
“Unable to Load Persistence Data is a connection issue on our side. We’re on it, for now you can hit Retry and attempt to join a server.”
UPDATE: DICE has released a fix for the issue.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: Battlefield 2042’s third major update was rolled out on Thursday at approximately 12.20am PT / 3.20am ET / 8.20am GMT.
The game’s largest patch yet includes over 300 fixes alongside balance changes and quality of life enhancements, all of which are detailed in the Battlefield 2042 update 0.3.0 patch notes.
DICE said on Wednesday that the update will deliver smoother gameplay by fixing spawning, visual glitching and collision issues.
Audio, rendering and interaction improvements are also included, as are fixes for weapons, vehicles and Specialists.
Other improvements should make it easier to customise loadouts and the Plus Menu, while UI elements during gameplay should be more visible due to reduced clutter.
Following the update’s release, DICE will start rolling out weekly missions (three per week) which players can complete to earn XP and unique cosmetic rewards.
The studio is planning to release another “small” Battlefield 2042 update in early December focused on balance changes and bug fixes.
