Diablo Immortal Battle Pass bug is reportedly costing players millions of XP
Users are continuing to encounter the bug despite Blizzard releasing a hotfix for the issue
A Diablo Immortal bug is reportedly costing players millions of XP even after Blizzard released a hotfix designed to address the issue.
A Blizzard community lead acknowledged the problem, which results in XP in various Battle Pass tasks not being rewarded to players, on July 23 in a Reddit post spotted by PCGamesN.
“There was a hotfix to address this and the team is going through to calculate each individuals lost XP through the time periods affected by this bug,” they wrote. “We have this data. The XP will be delivered once we go through the data.”
But following the release of the hotfix, users are reporting still encountering the issue.
“There was a post by a community manager that said the Battle Pass XP bug was hot fixed,” Reddit user The-Crawling-Chaos wrote on July 25. “I just leveled my Battle Pass up after the weekly reset and I did not receive any XP for doing so.
“This is at least the third level that I have not received any XP for now. This is such a major bug and it is incredibly disappointing Blizzard has not corrected it yet (or any of the other major bugs for that matter).”
“I can confirm this,” said Reddit user mdkubit. “After today’s reset, I completed bounties and finished a Battle Pass Rank, the XP animation played but the XP bar did not increase at all.”
Blizzard forums member BigBad wrote: “Its been a very known issue by all the community now for the last few days that the battle Pass is randomly not granting XP Reward after lvl ups. Please do something about it or at least give the community some sort of response.
“I personally didnt get XP Rewards 6 times in the last few days, so thats almost 5Mil XP. Reading the forums, I feel like its noticeable that this is a very occuring issue right now. Please Do something.”
Reddit user Rid1987 also claimed to have lost three million XP last week and two million more this week.
Blizzard launched Diablo Immortal Season 2 and the game’s latest Battle Pass on July 7.
Season 2’s free Bloodsworn Battle Pass includes 40 ranks-worth of challenges and rewards including Legendary Gems, Crests and Hilts.
There are also two paid versions of the Season 2 Battle Pass players can upgrade to: the Empowered Battle Pass and Collector’s Empowered Battle Pass.
Blizzard claimed on July 23 that Diablo Immortal has been installed over 20 million times – up from 10 million installs it reported on June 10, eight days after the free-to-play game’s release.
The number looks set to swell again after Diablo Immortal finally launched in China on Monday following a month-long delay.
