(However, if we had Zelda digital data, it may be the third fastest-selling game. Come on Nintendo, submit your data!)

Diablo 4 ‘is 2023’s second-fastest selling game of the year in Europe’
However, this doesn’t include digital sales data for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom
Diablo 4 has earned itself a big opening month, with the game becoming the second fastest-selling game of the year in Europe.
Sitting behind February’s Hogwarts Legacy, Diablo 4 has become the fastest-selling game in June since tracking began (via GFK).
However, as noted by the Head of GamesIndustry.biz Christopher Dring, if digital data was included, it’s possible that it would be the third-fastest-selling game behind The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom.
Diablo 4’s biggest platform was unsurprisingly on PC, with 66% of players choosing to play there. PlayStation 5 was in second place with 21%, with Xbox Series consoles coming in third at 9% across both physical and digital sales.
June’s second biggest game in Europe was Final Fantasy 16, however, sales are reportedly down 24% in Europe compared with 2020’s Final Fantasy 7: Remake. EA‘s F1 2023 struggled, with launch sales coming up 47% shorter than F1 2022.

In console sales news, the PS5 was once again the best-selling console in the region, having fallen to second place last month due to Zelda. PlayStation 5 sales are up 116%, while Nintendo Switch sales fell slightly to -2.3%. Xbox Series sales also fell, just slightly, to -0.8%.
