Diablo 2 Resurrected trailer confirms release date and open beta
The remaster will include classic and updated visuals on consoles and PC
Diablo 2 Resurrected will release on September 23, 2021, Blizzard has announced.
The publisher also confirmed it plans to hold an open beta in August for the remaster, which is set to release for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch, with full cross-progression between formats.
Players will be able to choose between five different classes (Amazon, Barbarian, Paladin, Sorceress, and Druid) in the open beta test and party up with up to 8 players.
The game features both classic and remastered visuals, which players can switch between on the fly.
Blizzard said Diablo 2’s signature gameplay and systems are unchanged, “quirks and all”, but there have been quality of life improvements including a shared stash.
The remaster has been developed with Vicarious Visions, the Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 1 + 2 and Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy studio which Activision Blizzard recently folded into Blizzard.
