Devolver Bootleg offers ‘fake’ NES versions of 8 Devolver games

Hotline Miami, Luftrausers and Enter the Gungeon among the ‘ripped off’ games

Devolver Digital has released Devolver Bootleg, a compilation of ‘rip off’ versions of eight of its most popular games.

Designed to imitate a ‘Famiclone’ console – many of which come with unlicensed NES games built in – Devolver Bootleg contains 8-bit versions of games like Hotline Miami and Enter the Gungeon.

The compilation is available now on Steam. While it usually costs $4.99/£3.99 it’s currently ‘on sale’ for 1% off, making it a slightly more affordable $4.96/£3.95.

The full list of games is:

  • Enter the Gun Dungeon (Enter the Gungeon)
  • Hotline Milwaukee (Hotline Miami)
  • Ape Out Jr (Ape Out)
  • Shootyboots (Downwell)
  • Super Absolver Mini: Turbo Fighting Championship (Absolver)
  • Catsylvania (Gato Roboto)
  • PikuBiku Ball Stars (Pikuniku)
  • Luftrousers (Luftrausers)

Devolver Bootleg was revealed during Devolver’s E3 2019 presentation.

Other games shown during the short video included multiplayer title Fall Guys Ultimate Knockout, ‘reverse horror game’ Carrion and a lightgun shooter version of Enter the Gungeon due for release as an actual arcade cabinet.
