Destroy All Humans 2 Reprobed is getting a $30 last-gen port with multiplayer removed
The remake came to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S last year
Destroy All Humans 2: Reprobed is getting a last-gen port, with its multiplayer functionality removed.
Reprobed is a full remake of the classic 2006 action-adventure game Destroy All Humans 2, completely built from the ground up in Unreal Engine 4.
The game was released on PS5, Xbox Series X/S and PC in August 2022, but no last-gen versions were announced at the time.
Now publisher THQ Nordic and developer Black Forest Games have announced that the remake will be ported to PS4 and Xbox One, with a release date for June 27.
The last-gen versions, however, will not include a multiplayer mode, though the game’s price has been lowered to account for this.
Renamed Destroy All Humans! 2 Reprobed: Single Player, the game will sell for $29.99 / €29.99 / £24.99.
Set in the sixties, Destroy All Humans 2 follows an alien called Crypto as he seeks justice against the Soviets, who have blown up his mothership with a nuclear missile.
The game takes Crypto around various locations including San Francisco, the UK, Russia, Japan and the moon.
Much like its predecessor, the sequel was well-known for its inventive weaponry, including the Burrow Beast (an alien monster that can leap out from under the ground and eat Earthlings), the Gastro Gun (an armed hologram of your ship’s janitor) and an Anal Probe.
The decision to make the PS4 and Xbox One versions single-player results in an uncommon occurence in which a remake removes features from the original, as the PS2 and Xbox versions (much like the current-gen versions) offered two-player split-screen co-op.
