Destiny 2 Witch Queen release date, new destination and more detailed
UPDATE: Expansion confirmed for February 2022
Destiny 2’s The Witch Queen expansion will be released on February 22, 2022.
The release date was revealed via an Australian PlayStation Store product listing ahead of a Destiny 2 live stream on Tuesday, True Trophies reports.
According to PlayStation Store screenshots posted on Reddit, The Witch Queen is billed as the “definitive Destiny campaign”. It will take players to Savathûn’s Throne World and introduce the new Glaive weapon type.
UPDATE: Bungie has confirmed that The Witch Queen will be released on February 22, 2022. It has also released the following trailer for the expansion.
ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: “Delve into Savathûn’s Throne World to uncover the mystery of how she and her Lucent Hive stole the Light,” the product description reads.
“A twisted wonderland of corruption and splendor, Savathûn’s Throne World plays host to fragile balance of power. From her palace to the swamp, all that she hides can be found here.”
It adds: “Create custom weaponry with unique mod, shader, and stat combinations. Master the new Glaive weapon type and unleash powerful melee combos, projectile attacks, and a deployable energy shield.”
Bungie is set to hold a Destiny showcase today at 9am PT / 12pm ET / 5pm BST / 6pm CEST, which will also detail Season of the Lost. You can watch it via the YouTube embed at the top of this page.
