Destiny 2 Season 19 detailed, including new dungeon, crucible updates and more
The first dungeon of the season is set to arrive later this week
Bungie has finally detailed season 19 of Destiny 2.
Destiny 2 Season of the Seraph will be the game’s last major update before Destiny 2: Lightfall, the significant expansion that’s set for release at the start of next year.
Season 19 kicked off on Tuesday, bringing with it a host of balance changes, updates to Crucible, and more. The first dungeon of the season is set to arrive later this week.
“The Hive God of War moves to seize control of Rasputin’s network of weaponized satellites. In her hands, she would turn its devastating power on the Last City,” reads a description of the season’s lore on the Bungie website.
“To stop her, the Vanguard has authorized special covert operations armed with the Warmind’s most advanced weaponry. Agents conducting these operations are known as Seraphs.”
Operation Seraph’s Shield, the season’s new dungeon, will focus on a weapon known as Revision Zero.
“Once deep enough within the facility, Guardians will reach the weapon Revision Zero. In the weeks following its discovery, multiple catalysts can be acquired, each adding to the mysterious Exotic’s power,” according to a teaser for the in-game event.
An Assassin’s Creed collaboration has also been revealed, as players can now visit the in-game shop to purchase Assassin’s Creed-themed cosmetics.
Season 19 is available for purchase for $12/$10, however players who already own the Deluxe Edition of The Witch Queen get the content as part of that version of the game.
Bungie is reportedly working on a new Destiny game for mobile in partnership with Chinese tech and gaming giant NetEase, which invested $100 million to become a minority shareholder in the Bellevue, Washington-based studio in 2018.
PlayStation maker Sony Interactive Entertainment confirmed in July that it had completed its $3.6 billion acquisition of Bungie.
