The iPhone and Mac release of Death Stranding Director’s Cut has been delayed, publisher 505 Games has confirmed.

It was announced in early November that the game would be released this year for both platforms.

But that will no longer be the case, with 505 Games saying: “We just need a little more time!

“Stay tuned for a new release date in early 2024.”

Death Stranding Director’s Cut will be compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and all iPads and Macs with the M1 chip or later.

Kojima Productions announced its support for Apple platforms during the iPhone maker’s Worldwide Developers Conference in June.

“This is just the beginning, and we are actively working to bring our future titles to Apple platforms,” said Hideo Kojima.

While the Metal Gear creator didn’t elaborate, Kojima Productions is officially working on Death Stranding 2 for PS5 and horror game OD with Xbox Game Studios.

Kojima Productions announced last week that it has teamed up with A24 to bring a live-action film adaptation of Death Stranding to the big screen.

A24 is the film distribution and production company behind movies like Everything Everywhere All At Once, Talk to Me, Uncut Gems, Midsommar, Lady Bird and Moonlight.

“The film promises to delve into the mysteries surrounding the apocalyptic event called the ‘Death Stranding,’ which blurred the lines between life and death, and brought forth nightmarish creatures into a world on the brink of collapse,” said Kojima Productions.
