Death Stranding and Control lead Game Awards 2019 nominations
Annual event scheduled to take place on December 12
The nominees for the Game Awards 2019 have been announced, with Death Stranding up for eight prizes and Control up for seven.
The show’s executive producer Geoff Keighley announced the nominations, which are listed below, in a YouTube live stream on Tuesday.
There are 29 awards in total, with winners determined by a blended vote between the voting jury (90%) and public fan voting (10%).
The Game Awards 2019 will be held on December 12, 2019, starting at 8:30pm ET / 5:30pm PT / 1:30am December 13 UK.
For the fifth year running the event will take place at the Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles.
Red Dead Redemption 2, Celeste and Fortnite won multiple prizes at The Game Awards 2018, as did God of War, which was crowned Game of the Year.
More than 10 new games were announced during the event including Mortal Kombat 11, The Outer Worlds, Far Cry New Dawn and Journey to the Savage Planet.
The Game Awards 2019 will include a fresh look at Gears of War’s real time strategy spin-off, Gears Tactics, which is in development for PC and Xbox.
“This year’s show will celebrate the act of creation, as I turn the stage over to a group of visionary teams selected to share their new projects with you,” Keighley has said.
