Death Stranding 2 has been confirmed
Hideo Kojima has been teasing the sequel for a while
The sequel to Death Stranding has been confirmed.
The first trailer for Death Stranding 2 was shown at The Game Awards, which was attended by Hideo Kojima.
The trailer for sequel, which will be published by Sony, stars Léa Seydoux, who played the character Fragile in the first game.
It also confirms that Norman Reedus will be returning, and notes that Troy Baker will also star.
Speaking on stage after the trailer premiered, Kojima said he wasn’t ready to reveal more details about the game yet, but teased: “I put a lot of things inside [the trailer] so I want you guys to talk about it and find details in it.”
He added: “I had the story written before the pandemic, but after experiencing the pandemic I just rewrote the whole story from scratch. I also didn’t want to predict any more future, so I rewrote it.”
Kojima has been teasing Death Stranding 2 on Twitter for some time now.
Earlier this week the Kojima Productions founder posted the latest in a series of teaser images for the upcoming title, which previously revealed that Elle Fanning and Shiori Kutsuna will star in it.
The new teaser added a third mystery face to the line-up, with fans speculating that it could be Seydoux.
It’s believed that Kojima is currently working on at least two projects. One is thought to be a game called ‘Overdose’, footage of which seemingly leaked online earlier this year.
Kojima appeared at the Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase in June to reveal that he is collaborating with Xbox to make a cloud-based game.
