Hideo Kojima premiered a new Death Stranding 2: On the Beach trailer on Sunday, and confirmed a release date of June 26, 2025.

Kojima Productions is set to hold a panel at the SXSW 2025 festival in Austin, Texas on Sunday, and according to a reliable leaker, the studio looks likely to firm up its release plans for the PS5 sequel.

According to Billbill-kun, publisher PlayStation is planning to open Death Stranding 2 pre-orders this month, with multiple physical editions planned, including a $70/£70 Standard Edition, and a $230 Collector’s Edition.

The contents of the Collector’s Edition are unknown, but it will be available in both Europe and North America, according to Billbil-kun.

The Death Stranding 2: On the Beach SXSW 2025 panel will be streamed live from 4pm CDT / 9pm GMT on Sunday, featuring director Hideo Kojima, and cast members Norman Reedus and Troy Baker.

According to the official announcement, the panel will be used to “discuss and share new details” about the game, which is scheduled to be released for PS5 later this year.

Last month, Death Stranding 2 was rated in South Korea as Kojima teased that he was working on a new trailer.

Death Stranding 2 was announced in December 2022. Its reveal trailer confirmed that Norman Reedus, who portrayed protagonist Sam Bridges in the original, will be returning alongside Léa Seydoux, who played the character Fragile. Troy Baker will also star.
