Dead Space creator reveals new horror game The Callisto Protocol
Story-driven, survival horror game is set for release in 2022
Dead Space creator Glen Schofield has revealed a new horror game, The Callisto Protocol.
Revealed during The Game Awards on Thursday, Callisto is a story-driven, survival horror game set in a prison colony on Jupiter’s dead moon Callisto, set for release in 2022.
The game challenges players to escape the maximum security Black Iron Prison and uncover its terrifying secrets.
Schofield said the game has been in development for over a year and half with a team of “well over a hundred people.”
“We want to make the single most scariest game for PC and consoles and we’re so excited to be able to share it tonight,” he said.

The former Sledgehammer and Visceral general manager was appointed as CEO of a new PUBG Corporation development studio called Striking Distance in 2019.
At the time, he said PUBG Corporation was keen to expand the series beyond battle royale and that he was planning to craft “an original narrative experience in the PUBG universe”.
Schofield has been building Striking Distance from the ground up and it now has over 100 employees, including former Call of Duty and Dead Space developers.
