Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty gets a September release date
The upcoming DLC expansion will be current gen only
CD Projekt has shown off a new trailer for Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty and announced its release date.
The DLC expansion will be released on September 26, CD Projekt has confirmed.
As previously leaked earlier today, pre-orders are now open for the DLC, and players who pre-order will get access to a new muscle car called the Quadra Vigilante.
In a new interview with VGC, the game’s creative director Pawel Sasko said that Phantom Liberty will entirely overhaul most of the game’s mechanics, including its AI, skill trees, loot and more.
Phantom Liberty is “a spy-thriller expansion for Cyberpunk 2077 set in an all-new district of Night City”, according to the publisher.
It will star Idris Elba as Solomon Reed, an FIA Agent for the New United States of America.
Sasha Grey will also star in the DLC. She will voice Ash, a radio DJ on the in-game station 89.7 Growl FM.
The expansion will also see the return of Johnny Silverhand, the character played by Keanu Reeves, alongside a new cast of characters.
CD Projekt said last September that Phantom Liberty was the only planned expansion for Cyberpunk 2077, though after its release the next Cyberpunk game, Project Orion, will begin development at a new US-based studio called CD Projekt Red North America.
