Cyberpunk 2077, including the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions, is on sale for $10
The PS4 and Xbox One game will get a free new-gen upgrade next year
Cyberpunk 2077 is currently on sale for under $10 in Target’s Black Friday sale.
At the time of publication, the PS4 and Xbox One versions of CD Projekt’s sci-fi RPG are on sale for $9.99 at Target, where they normally cost $39.99 and $26.99 respectively.
Notably, owners of the both versions of Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a free next-gen upgrade when the game’s released for PS5 and Xbox Series X/S next year.
The new-gen editions of the game were originally scheduled to release this year, but in October, the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of both Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were delayed to 2022.
The president of CD Projekt has said he believes that Cyberpunk 2077 will be considered a “very good game” in the future, once its issues are finally resolved.
Cyberpunk 2077 is now scheduled to be released in the first quarter of 2022 and The Witcher 3 is planned for the second quarter of 2022.
CD Projekt said the product delays were based on “recommendations supplied by persons supervising development”. It added: “Apologies for the extended wait, but we want to make it right.”
In June, CD Projekt said it believed Cyberpunk 2077‘s performance had reached a “satisfying” level, following six months of patches designed to improve the game from its much-criticised launch state.
Post-launch plans for Cyberpunk 2077 were significantly altered following its troubled release, but the game finally received its first piece of DLC in August alongside its biggest patch yet.
The game’s last major update, patch 1.31, arrived in mid-September, introducing a number of gameplay, quest and open world fixes, plus visual and UI improvements.
Following the Cyberpunk 2077 PS5 and Xbox Series X delays, the launch of new title updates and free DLC was also pushed from later this year to 2022.
