Former Xbox exclusive Cuphead looks set for PS4

Update: The game is now available for Sony’s console

Former Xbox exclusive platformer Cuphead looks set to release on PlayStation 4.

That’s according to a PlayStation Store listing which seemingly appeared for the Studio MDHR title, snapped by Restera users on various console regions.

The critically acclaimed indie platformer, which has sold over five million copies since releasing on PC and Xbox One in September 2017, was released on Nintendo Switch last year.

Games personality Geoff Keighley is set to premiere “a special update from one of our favorite indie game studios” at 11am ET / 4pm BST.

In addition, the Cuphead Xbox.com listing has been updated to state that its next DLC pack, The Delicious Last Course, is “available now,” suggesting an imminent release for the add-on.

UPDATE: Studio MDHR has released Cuphead for PS4 priced at $19.99/£15.99.

The studio’s COO Maja Moldenhauer also provided the following update on the game’s delayed Delicious Last Course DLC.

“In true Cuphead fashion it’s taking us a little longer than we thought, but we want to make it a memorable experience,” she said. “To be honest I think that we ultimately probably announced it a little too early based on when we actually put pencil to paper, but at the end of the day we want it to be a fulfilling experience and live up to Cuphead and it will come out when it’s ready.”

ORIGINAL STORY CONTINUES: In The Delicious Last Course, heroes Cuphead and Mugman are joined by Ms. Chalice for an adventure on a brand new island featuring new weapons, new charms, and Ms. Chalice’s new abilities.

Netflix recently released a video offering a sneak peak at its upcoming Cuphead animated series.

The Cuphead Show! is being created in partnership with game developer Studio MDHR and print syndication company King Features.
