Cult video series returns to boast: ‘I have five PS5s’
Satirical video series obtains multiple consoles for the third generation in a row
Five PlayStation 5s, the latest video from internet humour site LoadingReadyRun, has marked the third console generation in a row it’s managed to secure multiple PlayStation consoles at launch.
Presented by Canadian host Paul Saunders, the cult video series started in December 2009 when the comedian boasted in a satirical video about his three PlayStation 3 consoles, accumulating over 2 million video views and inspiring a roster of similar videos from other creators.
In December 2013, Saunders repeated the stunt with the four PlayStation 4s video, and on Saturday he completed the trilogy with five PlayStation 5s, seemingly overcoming significant stock shortages still being faced by consumers.
Asked how much it cost to obtain the highly-desired consoles, LoadingReadyRun said on Twitter the PS5s “were more expensive than the location rental.”
