Crysis 2 and 3 remasters are coming this year
Crysis Remastered Trilogy is confirmed for consoles and PC; standalone games also available
Developer Crytek has confirmed that remasters of Crysis 2 and 3 will release for consoles and PC this fall / autumn.
The Crysis Remastered Trilogy will feature single-player remasters of Crysis, Crysis 2, and Crysis 3, optimized in partnership with Saber Interactive.
The games are planned for release on PlayStaion, Xbox, Nintendo Switch and for PC, with the game “playing even smoother on next gen PS5 and Xbox Series X/S,” according to Crytek.
The remaster of the original Crysis game released last year, and Crytek has confirmed that the Crysis 2 and Crysis 3 will also be made available separately outside of the “Trilogy”.
While no specific enhancements are mentioned in Tuesday’s announcement, Crysis Remastered featured new lighting, updated assets, ray traced reflections and 8K textures.
A next-gen patch later introduced performance, quality and full ray tracing modes for Xbox Series X|S and PlayStation 5 (PC supported full ray tracing at release).
“We’re excited to announce that these iconic Crysis games are returning in one bundle, remastered for a new generation of hardware,” said project lead Steffen Halbig in a prepared statement.
“Each game is enhanced to look and play beautifully on today’s platforms, delivering the finest Crysis experience for both newcomers to our classic franchise or players wishing to relive the adventure.”
