Crypto revealed in Apex Legends Season 3 video
New season starts October 1
Respawn has confirmed that Apex Legends Season 3, titled Meltdown, will begin on October 1.
The season will introduce a new hero, Crypto, as well as additional skins and gear via the latest Battle Pass and a new weapon, the Charge Rifle.
On Friday the developer released a new story trailer for Crypto, which you can see on this page.
EA CEO Andrew Wilson told investors in July that he expects Season 3 to be “even bigger” than the previous season, which kicked off the same month.
Wilson said EA sees multiple growth opportunities for Apex Legends, including previously revealed plans to bring the series to mobile devices worldwide, and to launch the franchise in China.
“Our plans to bring Apex Legends to China, and a worldwide mobile launch, are also on course, and we will share more on our plans in the future,” he said.
Respawn recently outlined some of the “behind the scenes” work it’s doing to combat cheating in Apex Legends, which it acknowledges has become a “hot topic” following the launch of the game’s ranked mode with season 2.
